Our Watchword & Song is a book that covers the complete history of the Christian denomination, the Church of the Nazarene. My client, Beacon Hill Press knew this was going to have to have a long shelf-life so it needed to be timeless.

I used the Nazarene archival photo of their "Pilot Point gathering" photographed in 1908, and expanded it for the front and back cover. Working with resolution was the toughest challenge.

For the titling I used a vintage street banner typeface, hand-placed each letter, then ran it through a photocopier about 50 times to achieve its graininess.
